2012 Art Prize Winner

 

 On Saturday, October 6, the 2012 Art Prize Winner was announced. The Elephants was drawn by Adonna Khare, who is an elementary school art teacher in California. The winning piece will remain at the GRAM for a while longer.

Homecoming

 

 

             Friday, October 5, Wyoming High celebrated their first ever homecoming day. They ended the school day off with a pep rally, where the cheerleaders put on a show for everyone, and the homecoming court was announced.

            Later that day, the Wolves Varsity football team played a hard game against Creston High School. The whole crowd cheered them on to victory!

They were crownded homecoming King and Queen during half time.

 

           

           The game ended with an astonishing victory for the Wolves in a 34-6 win.

 



 

 

 

 

DISQUALIFIED

 

 

       The Dragon, located at the Amway Plaza Hotel, was disqualified because it was reported that the artist created something very similar back in 2008; titled "Nelligan the Dragon." The rules state that any piece must have been created within 3 years of entering it in Art Prize.

        Days after she was disqualified she spent the whole night adding another 2,000 beads to create a broken heart. "Now it's a broken-hearted Dragon," comments the artist; Robin Protz.

Grand Rapids

If you missed it last week, thousands of paper lanterns were let go and the city was transformed into a scene right from the Disney movie 'Tangled.' It was 8 p.m. on Friday, September 28, when Mark Carpenter and Dan Johnson joined forces to create this magical experience.
